Duties of Officers

3.       DUTIES OF OFFICERS

  1. The Board of Directors will consist of a Directors  
    • President
    • Vice-President
    • Secretary/Treasurer
    • Statistician
    • Directors(comprised of one nomiated representive per active team in the SaskAlta Hockey League.
  2. LEAGUE PRESIDENT;  Will be responsible for chairing all meetings, the proper supervision, administration and jurisdiction of all League activities, including scheduling, cancelled or defaulted games, team protests, suspensions or any other business required to operate the League. The President must remain active as a director for a minimum of 1 (one) year after retiring as President.
  3. LEAGUE VICE-PRESIDENT;  Will be responsible for all duties as may be delegated by the President, and will, in the event of the Presidents’ absence, act as his/her representative.
  4. LEAGUE SECRETARY/TREASURER;  Will be appointed by the Board of Directors at the annual fall meeting. Will be responsible for the proper and detailed accounting of all League funds, ensuring League fees are paid by active teams, all bills that arise are paid, keeping minutes of all meetings, handle all League correspondence, be the main contact to Hockey Alberta, order supplies required by the Sask Alta Hockey League, notify Board of Directors and teams of meetings,and press releases.
  5. DIRECTORS;  Will be responsible for voting on suspensions and/or fines to teams, retrieving and faxing game reports, to the League President or Statistician within 24 hours of the completion of the game.  
  6. LEAGUE STATISTICIAN;  Will be appointed by the Board of Directors, and will be responsible for tabulating team standings, as well as individual statistics and penalty minutes, keep track of top ten list, and ensure all active teams, Board of Directors, and media receive copies via fax on a weekly bases.                       
  7. ELECTIONS;  Elections of President and Vice-President will take place every year at the Annual Fall Meeting, or on a carried motion, at the Schedule Meeting.
  8. NOMINATIONS OF DIRECTORS;  Each active team will nominate one (1) representative every year at the annual fall meeting, or on a carried motion, at the Schedule Meeting
  9. VOTING;   The President, Vice-President, and each Director will have 1 (one) vote on all business pertaining to the Sask Alta Hockey League. The Secretary/Treasurer and Statistician are not entitled to vote.
  10. BOARD OF DIRECTORS PASSES;  The President and Vice-President will receive a Game Pass each year, which will be good for all Regular Season or Playoff game in the Sask Alta Hockey League.

  11. BANKING;  The President and Secretary/Treasurer will decide which Financial Institution to do all Sask Alta Hockey League financial needs.

  12. SIGNING AUTHORITY;  The signing Officers shall be the President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer, with any two (2) to sign.
